Cases involving domestic violence cover a wide variety of areas of law. Three Rivers works closely with shelters and the victims’ advocates at law enforcement agencies to help survivors of intimate partner violence find safety and stability.
Three Rivers will assist survivors obtain injunctions for protection to prohibit further contact and violence from the abuser. There are no income or asset eligibility restrictions for survivors seeking assistance with injunctions for protections – everyone is eligible as long as they live in our service area or have a referral from the legal services agency their service area.
We may also be able to assist in related family law cases, such as establishing or modifying timesharing with the children, obtaining a dissolution of marriage, or obtaining permission to relocate.
Intimate partner violence can affect many areas of clients’ lives. Three Rivers can also assist in cases involving compensation for property destroyed or stolen by an abuser, or liaising with landlords to provide more safety measures, or other legal problems caused by being in an abusive relationship.
